During the signing, Ms. Francis, Director General of STB, mentioned that the cooperation between the Tourist Office and the country`s national airline remains essential to the prosperity of the destination. The agreement signed in the presence of Ms Jenifer Sinon, Chief Executive of StB, and Mr Charles Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Seychelles, covers different areas involving both parties, which concern many collective marketing activities. The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) – the marketing organisation of the Seychelles destination – and its national counterpart Air Seychelles have officially renewed their joint marketing agreement. This agreement will once again strengthen its collective support for the promotion of the destination. Air Seychelles has an excellent partnership between STB, as the two organisations pursue similar objectives. Following the signing of this MoU, we will continue to work closely with STB through several joint marketing and public relations initiatives to expand our market presence in the region. From November 27, 2019, we will also establish our presence in our latest destination Tel Aviv. The document includes long-term partnerships between the two organizations, including the participation and visibility of both parties in important tourism events. These events include fairs and exhibitions, handelseringstring trips, product presentations and workshops (among others). Air Seychelles offers services from a regional perspective with its scheduled flights to Mauritius and Madagascar. They also offer international flights to Johannesburg, Mauritius and Mumbai. The signing ceremony was held again at the STB headquarters in Mont-Fleuri and was attended by representatives of both organizations.

Lord. Remco Althuis, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “As part of our mandate to support Seychelles` economy, it is important that the national airline, with important interest groups, remains visible around the world.” The airline recently announced the opening of a new route, with the opening of a new service connecting Seychelles and Israel`s largest metropolitan area (Tel Aviv) last November. “STB recognises Air Seychelles` immense contribution to making the destination more accessible. As STB continues its mission to make Seychelles visible as a tourist destination, we are grateful to get the support of our national airline. By signing the MoU today, not only are we agreeing on cooperation, but our two organisations are showing their commitment to expanding Seychelles` reach and addressing a wider traveller,” Francis said. She also said she was pleased that both companies had reaffirmed their commitment to work in the interest of the destination. Ms Sherin Francis – STB Chief Executive Officer and Air Seychelles Chief Executive Officer – Mr Remco Althuis, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday 22 July 2019 at STB headquarters. He continued: “We are pleased to renew a Memorandum of Understanding with STB as part of our commitment and efforts to increase the number of visitors to the island and also promote the Seychelles destination in our network and beyond.
